FOS Education

 

Friends of the Shelter members believe that education is the best way to make a difference in reducing the number of unwanted animals in Bell County KY.  To that end, we sponsor annual subscriptions to KIND NEWS,a  bi monthly newspaper written by Red Rover Foundation for children in elementary school.  Red Rover is a national animal welfare organization that provides educational materials that foster empathy and compassion in school age children.  FOS currently provides 25 newspapers to each of 26 classrooms in Bell County.

FOS further seeks to provide information to the public about pet care, spay/neuter benefits, and humane pet care through printed newspaper articles, our Facebook page, website, and printed pamphlets.
